In todays lesson we watched two different trailer from 2008 Microwave scheme film "shifty"
In order to maxamise the reach of the film metrodome produced three trailers all of which would appeal to different audiences (personally a very smart innoiative)
One trailer featured a more classical style soundtrack from Molly nyman giving the film a pedigree, which can be found here whilst the other soundtrack was more urban and featured around the hip hop style, rap etc-which didnt atually appear in the movie.
In the first trailer the soundtrack was upbeat, and more about friendship whilst the music changed to signify more serious scenes and as the tension built the music built. which can be found Here
Whereas the second trailer focused more on Rap music and gave the audience the impression the film had a lot of violence, it also gave a clearer indication to the target audience (teenagers) due to the music, pre violence & swearing warning whilst the trailer had all this rap music, this can be found Here the film had no such thing, this was due to it costing to liscence the song and the budget for shifty was only £100,000.
